We are so excited to be recognized for our comedy series (the videos are all down below in a previous post…all we have left is the SPRING JAM!). ***MARCH 11TH UPDATE***
The awards were an ABSOLUTE BLAST and MANY THANKS to the whole ECNY committee for putting them on and for Jon Friedman for being an exceptional host. Again, I can’t say how honored I was to be a part of them. I went as my hip hop alter ego, Beena Steena, that you see in all the videos (because after all, it is Beena who got me nominated) and I was styled by Niketta Scott and she also did my hair into a f*cking masterpiece. You may remember back this summer when we came out with the hit, SUMMER JAM:


And of course our ECNY nominated AUTUMN JAM, “Damn (YOU WISH)” which is a parody to the trusty Sophie B. Hawkins hit, “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover.” It’s a fun song, entertaining video, and we even have a dance break in there! Video is shot, directed and edited by the talented, Anya Garrett. Alrighty! I promised BI-MONTHLY episodes, and I’m actually going to follow through!! In this sophomore episode of my second season, I introduce myself to those peeps who may not know who I am, but somehow stumbled upon my crazy web series now that it’s on youtube. I take you through a day in the life of me, along with explaining to new viewers what they may be in store for while watching the show. It’s all about fun and love and THANK YOU so much for checkin’ it out!!

Well, it’s a new year/new season, peeps! We’re kicking it off with a youtube debut of “That Chick Mara Herron” (previously I had my season one episodes on facebook and a couple on vimeo). In this episode, I tackle one of the hardest days of 2009 I had: selling my beach cruiser, plus what it was like to go back and train in dance again for my one woman show. I also talk about New York and some dreams. Hope you enjoy it!! Have an amazing 2010. Seriously.

Back in the habit! I did some stand up downtown on this past Saturday at Karma Lounge in New York City on a show called “If You Build It” hosted by Kara Klenk and Chelsea White. It was a very underground New York comedy feel, there were some amazing comics on the line up, and I had a blast! I hadn’t done stand up for a couple of months because of my focus on my one woman show, so it felt really good to get back on stage. I love the shit out of stand up. I cut up some highlights of the set for you to watch if you’re interested. Thanks!
